Roman Catholicism Growing in China

Roman Catholicism is growing in China, especially among the young, according to China Central Television (CCTV), China's state-run national TV network ... CCTV follows directives set by the Communist Party's propaganda department, analysts say. This makes it significant that it recognizes an independent Catholic renaissance in China. CCTV estimates the country's Catholic community at five million, but unofficially AsiaNews and the Hong Kong diocese estimate the real number to be closer to 12 million.
