Ontario MPPs Cash In

It will be an especially green Christmas for the province's MPPs who voted themselves a 25% pay increase yesterday before going on holidays. Bill 173 passed 77-7 and was promptly put into law. The base salary of MPPs has risen by $22,004 to $110,775 a year or 75% of a federal MP's salary. Pensions and severance have been improved.
