New Archbishop Clearly 'the Pope's Man'
Pope Benedict XVI has put his stamp firmly on Canada's Roman Catholic Church with the appointment of a punning, affable, schmooze-averse scholar as the next archbishop - and almost certainly next cardinal - of Toronto ... He is clearly the Pope's man - like Benedict, a gentle introvert who leads with his intellect rather than his personality, a conservative theologian ("Me? Surely, you jest," he jokes in an interview), and a modest, soft-spoken cosmopolitan who is comfortable with women and melts into groups without dominating them.
