Dion Trots Out 'Scary Right-Wing Agenda' Again

When Stephane Dion accuses his political foes of being right-wing ideologues who damage the country, he says it's nothing personal. Accusations of a scary Conservative hidden agenda have been a constant but increasingly ineffective fixture of recent Liberal election campaigns. Dion gave every indication during a news conference yesterday he will resurrect the theme in the next campaign, expected early next year.

Dallaire Pleads for Action on Darfur

Retired Canadian general Romeo Dallaire blasted the U.S. and Canada on Monday for failing to rally the world and provide the political will to save people in Darfur. The reason so many people have been allowed to die in Sudan already, Dallaire told a Senate subcommittee, is simple. "There's no self-interest. Who cares about Darfurians? They're sub-Saharan Africans. They're like Rwandans."
