McVety Denies Having Easy Access to PM

A prominent leader in the evangelist movement is denying an MP's claim that he once boasted about being able to get Prime Minister Stephen Harper on the phone “in two minutes.” Charles McVety, president of Canadian Christian College in Toronto and president of the Canadian Family Action Coalition, said Monday he never made the comment.

Dallaire Pleads for Action on Darfur

Retired Canadian general Romeo Dallaire blasted the U.S. and Canada on Monday for failing to rally the world and provide the political will to save people in Darfur. The reason so many people have been allowed to die in Sudan already, Dallaire told a Senate subcommittee, is simple. "There's no self-interest. Who cares about Darfurians? They're sub-Saharan Africans. They're like Rwandans."
