MPs Enjoying Gold-Plated Pensions


Some members of Parliament who are opting out of the next election are going back to the real world with pensions that most voters can only envy. The effect of a sharp increase in the basic pay of all MPs over the past six years — from $68,425 in 2001 to more than $150,000 annually by next month — is now being reflected in their retirement benefits.
