Wilfull Ignorance Regarding Abortion

It happened again recently. Another seemingly intelligent, thoughtful woman told me point blank that I could not understand the issue of abortion, because I am not a woman. I begged to differ with her and after exchanging a few polite emails ended the discussion knowing that neither had changed the other’s mind. Like many men, I resent the claim that abortion is exclusively a “woman’s issue.”

Dallaire Pleads for Action on Darfur

Retired Canadian general Romeo Dallaire blasted the U.S. and Canada on Monday for failing to rally the world and provide the political will to save people in Darfur. The reason so many people have been allowed to die in Sudan already, Dallaire told a Senate subcommittee, is simple. "There's no self-interest. Who cares about Darfurians? They're sub-Saharan Africans. They're like Rwandans."
